The Abbey Studio, 2687 Penrith Ave, Cumberland

November is a time of deep reflection, introspection and a month when poetry moves in me. The songs are tender and intimate: songs about the loves I've lost, of rivers I love, of chance meetings and soulful connections to nature and spirit.

This is an interactive community event for people to create while they listen. We will have a collaging table set up for card making. Bring sketchbooks, knitting and other quiet crafts to work on while I play to you.

We welcome instruments for a post concert jam if you feel so inclined.

The concert begins with a short soothing sound bath, then continues with a set of my original songs and poems; then a refreshment break, more singing and an invitation to join in with a sing along, and likely some dancing as well Not suitable for children under 15

Sliding scale: $15- 25 Elders, youth- Adults

This is a place holder for now...but when two sensually alive musical souls get together after 30 years, don't doubt this will be a celebration to remember!

Cristina and Joanna met at a Women Friends Music Camp in BC in the early '90's. They found a common connection in being violists, singers and song writers.Each with a passionate interest in how sound heals and transforms, they grew during their life journeys into energy healers, using music as a source of guidance and inspiration. They have stayed connected from their nests in Ontario and Vancouver Island for three adventurous decades, and now are very excited to at last come together to share in a community that cherishes the gifts of nature and music. Details will be forthcoming. But for now, save the date!

The final stop on my "Salish Sea Siren Islands Tour" is home to Cumberland, to play for and with friends, before I head out on October 3 as a "Musician On Board" Via Rail, going all the way to Halifax!

We have a wonderful group of artists performing along with my original music, including dancers Bridget Salas, Cathy Coates, and Jamie Black; and musicians Graham Edwards, David Stevens, Sam Lennox, Judy Norbury, Hazel Lennox, Lainie Laughlin, Liz Brookfield and surprise guests. Audience participation is WELCOME There will be opportunities to dance, and sing!

Bring cash: There will be a merch table and a cocktail-mocktail and appy bar provided by Kerry Ann, Queen of All Things Tasty

Doors at 7:00; Showtime 7:30 Tickets are $20 BUY ONLINE TO ASSURE A SEAT. (remaining tickets will be available at the door All ages. Accessible building.

A donation will be collected to protect the remaining ancient trees in Fairy Creek.

Ending August with a beautiful musical party on the lawn at Innisfree Farm inspires a feeling of inclusion. So we've invited guest musician, bassist/singer-songwriter Tereza Tomek to sit in and share some of her tunes in a workshop style, "songs in the round" arrangement for the second set. Nanaimo based drummer James McRae, one of the most sought after drummer on the island is joining us for this event. We will begin the evening with an eclectic set of roots, jazz and pop originals with some hot tunes that will get everyone dancing. In the second set we get to play together- which musicians love to do...in a mash up of styles and instruments, with lots of hot licks and scintillating solos! We will play my two latests releases, CROWS and TREES and VINTO TRANQUILLO and many favourites from my debut album, In The Arms of Morpheus, on which Miles was instrumental in its global success.

Tickets are $25 online and at the gate. (None will be turned away; donations are accepted) Bring a chair or blanket. Tea and treats will be available.
